A Matter of Traffic

A local option tax on our ballot
Would ensure airline flights
Even without passengers
Much like the railroad
Of generations past
That rolled up this valley
On the promise of transport
In exchange for the right of way
To mine profit from these lands.
And just as a resort was built
To bring traffic to those lines
Now the traffic must be purchased
To lure profit to the resort.
